Weigh Palmscale Operating Instructions The Palmscale is very easy to operate. However,
there are certain caring and operation instructions you should
read before your first use. We know taking the time to read these
instructions is time consuming, but this scale is a precision
instrument and must be handled with the utmost care. Be careful
not to lose your jewelers tools! IMPORTANT:1. To open the scale, slide the black switch on the right side
                of the scale.
 2. To release the jewelers scoop/gunpowder scoop, slide the black
switch on the bottom of the scale.
 3. There is a storage slot inside the Carrying pouch to hold your
                gemstone tweezers.
 4. If the scale ever locks up (reads 8888 for more
then 15 seconds), simply remove the scoop and then press the ON
key. If this does not work, then remove and replace the batteries.
 5. Do not put the scale on or near a hot surface
 6. Do not get the scale wet and do not operate on any wet surface
 7. To clean the scale, wipe the surface with a clean damp cloth
or mild non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use an abrasive cleaner it
                will damage the finish.
 8. Do not overload the scale. That is, do not place anything that
weighs more then the maximum capacity on the scale. It may permanently
                damage the load cell.
 9. Handle the scale with care. This is a precision weighing instrument
and should never be dropped or otherwise mishandled.
 10. Do not leave anything on the scale when not in use.
 11. Do not put any moist foods or wet objects on the scale. Keep
the surface of the scale dry.
 12. Do not use the Metal tray to pick up the scale, only hold
and lift the scale by its base
 13. If the scale ever reads Lo or weighs very slowly,
                please replace the batteries.
 14. In the unlikely event your scale should require recalibration
please refer to the calibration manual.
INSTRUCTION MANUAL1. Do not put anything on the scale before you turn the unit on.
 2. Turn the scale on by pressing the On. After 2 seconds, the
                display will read 0.0 g.
 3. Always allow the scale to warm up for at least 30 seconds.
 4. Place the item to be weighed on the center of the platform
and read the value on the display.
 5. TARE Function: If you need to loose items or anything in a
container or tray you should: 1) Turn the scale On. 2) Place the
empty container or tray on the scale. 3) Press the TARE button.
                4) Place the items to be weighed into the container. 5) The exact
weight of the items will show. (use your tweezers to handle all
                gems)
 6. The scale has an Auto-Off feature that turns off the scale
after lapses of non-activity. If the scale is in a room with wind
or air movement, it may sense the pressure of the air and not
auto-off. In this case you must use the manual shutoff. Simply
press the OFF button to turn the scale off manually.
 7. Gram / Ounce Function: This scale has the ability to weigh
in either gram or ounce mode. The selection of grams or ounces
is done by simply pressing the G/OZ key once the scale is on.
BATTERY INSTRUCTIONSUse 2 CR2032 3volt batteries. Be careful not to strip the screw
when removing it. Please make sure the polarity is correct when
                installing new batteries.

 PALMSCALE CALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR VERSION
1.0 & 2.0 (not for the new 3.0!) REMEMBER, THIS SCALE IS ACCURATE
WITHIN +/- .1G, ONLY CALIBRATE IF YOUR READINGS ARE INACCURATE
BEYOND THE STANDARD OF .1G. ALWAYS ALLOW YOUR SCALE TO WARM UP
                FOR 30 SECONDS BEFORE WEIGHING.*
THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES MUST BE FOLLOWED STRICTLY TO AVOID FATAL
                DAMAGE
***PRE-READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE BEFORE YOU BEGIN***
 *
THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY SEEM COMPLICATED, BUT THEY ARE ACTUALLY
                PRETTY EASY
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU MOVE YOUR HANDS VERY SLOWLY DURING
EACH STEP TO BE SURE YOU ARE NOT CAUSING ANY AIR MOVEMENTS &
DONT BREATH ON THE TRAY DURING CALIBRATION. Make sure the
scale is on a flat stable surface - preferably on a Mousepad for
                extra stability.
 *
Again - these instructions are for the Palmscale 120 & 150
versions 1.0 & 2.0 only (the new 3.0 instructions follow afterwards)
 1. Turn the scale off and clear the platform (Make
sure nothing is on the platform not even the plastic tray)
                2. Place the scale on a flat stable surface that has NO vibrations
and make sure there is absolutely NO air movement.
 3. Turn the scale on by pressing the ON key (Remember: make sure
                the silver platform is empty).
 4. WHEN THE DISPLAY SHOWS 0.0g, press and hold the
OFF key for 15 seconds. The display will then show a 4 digit random
figure. (this is the gravitational setting).
 5. Gently Place a 100g standard weight on the platform. The displayed
figure will change. (be Gentle at each step)
 6. Wait 10 seconds for the display to stabilize and then press
the OFF key once. The display should change to 0000 (if the display
does not show 0000, turn the scale off by pressing the OFF key
six times and start calibration again).
 7. Press the G/OZ key Once. The Display should change to 1000
(If you make a mistake and press G/OZ too many times you can just
keep pressing it until you get it back to 1000 Be sure
to press the g/oz key and not the TARE, OFF or ON key!
 8. PALMSCALE 120: Press the OFF key 6 times until the scale turns
off. (each time you press the OFF key the scale will show a different
figure on the screen. These are default settings that should not
                be changed).
PALMSCALE 150: Press the OFF key 3 times until the scale turns
off. (each time you press the OFF key the scale will show a different
figure on the screen. These are default settings that should not
                be changed).
 9. REMOVE THE 100g WEIGHT FROM THE PLATFORM.
 10. Turn the scale back on and test some weight readings.
 11. If the readings are still inaccurate, perform calibration
                again from step 7.
